Łukasz Gibała has more than 62% of the vote in both late polls following the second round of Kraków’s snap mayoral election, RMF24 reports. The estimates put him clearly ahead of Monika Piątkowska, but do not yet constitute an official result. Speaking to RMF FM and Polsat News, Gibała said he was waiting for confirmation.
In OGB’s latest, second late poll, reported by RMF24 on the evening of 11 October 2026, Gibała received 62.1% and Piątkowska 37.9%. The pollster estimated turnout at 45.9%. The Ipsos late poll put Gibała on 62.3% and Piątkowska on 37.7%, with estimated turnout of 44.7%. Both polls were commissioned by Polsat News.
Although the pollsters’ figures differ slightly, they point to the same picture: a substantial lead for Gibała. The vote shares and turnout figures remain late-poll estimates, however, rather than results announced by the electoral commission. According to RMF24, the Municipal Electoral Commission is expected to announce the official results by publishing a paper record at Plac Wszystkich Świętych.
Election follows referendum as Gibała pledges changes
The second round took place on 11 October. RMF24 reports that the snap election followed Aleksander Miszalski’s removal from office in a referendum in May. Stanisław Kracik had been running the city pending the election of a successor. Gibała leads the Kraków dla Mieszkańców association and has served on Kraków City Council since 2018.
His pledges include protecting green spaces in the Prądnik Valley and restoring previous public transport fares, including the 20-minute ticket. These are commitments concerning the city’s future administration, not changes already introduced. The election’s formal outcome will depend on the commission’s announcement of the results.
